Dr. Viera obtained her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and went on to pursue a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
Dr. Viera has conducted research on diabetes and adrenal disorders, focusing on adrenal insufficiency, the intersection of diabetes and eating disorders, and glucocorticoid-induced hyperglycemia. While she practices general endocrinology, her clinical interests include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, adrenal and pituitary disorders, weight management, PCOS, and women’s health. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
