Dr. Lomonaco received her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, School of Medicine in Argentina. She subsequently moved to the United States where she completed a 2-year clinical research fellowship focusing on metabolism at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. She completed Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
After fellowship Dr. Lomonaco joined the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Florida as a Clinical Assistant Professor where she worked for more than 5 years seeing complex patients with multiple endocrine problems. She also trained residents and fellows and was part of multiple clinical trials focused on type 2 diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). She is the author of several peer-reviewed articles in significant journals and participated as speaker for several Latin American Endocrine Societies.
Her areas of interest include diabetes mellitus, lipid disorders, obesity, thyroid and bone disease/osteoporosis.
She is fluent in English and Spanish.
