Dr. Leslie Cotto attended the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, for her undergraduate education and obtained a Degree in Biology. She then attended the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico for her Medical Degree. She subsequently completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. After she completed her residency, she joined the JFK Medical Center and worked as a Hospitalist for 3 years. During that time, she was named the Program Director for the Diabetes Program.
Dr. Cotto moved to Texas in 2017, to complete her Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at Baylor Scott & White/ Texas A&M College of Medicine. During her Endocrine Fellowship training, Dr. Cotto was awarded with a Training Grant by the American Thyroid Association where she presented an Abstract.
Dr. Cotto is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She is also fluent in English and Spanish.
