A: Workshop 1: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Workshop 2: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Workshops may be scheduled all in one day or taken separately. When scheduled separately you will be responsible for two co-payments versus one.
A: The cost of workshops is the same as your co-pay when you see a specialist under your insurance plan. If you have any questions regarding insurance coverage please contact your insurance provider.
A: Yes, most commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare cover the cost of all diabetes education, workshops and nutrition, however you will be responsible for co-payment at the time of visit.
A: Yes, most insurance plans cover 2 visits per year with a registered dietitian. Again, you will be responsible for co-payment at the time of your nutrition visit. A registered dietitian will supply you with a meal plan, review carbohydrate counting, aid in weight loss, teach you foods to consume for better blood sugar control and calculate your appropriate calorie consumption.
A: Yes, most insurance plans cover 2 visits per year with a certified diabetes educator. Again, you will be responsible for co-payment at the time of your visit. A certified diabetes educator will teach you how to take your diabetes medications, side effects, proper blood glucose monitoring and aid in ways to manage blood glucose levels.
A: Yes, we do provide a healthy lunch for you and 1 guest during the workshops. You will have a break for lunch between 12pm-1pm. Water and diabetes booklets are also provided in class.

A: Your overall treatment may be compromised without proper education on medications, food, monitoring and exercise. You may not achieve optimal blood glucose levels if you refuse diabetes education.
A: Patients that attend our diabetes workshops have overall lower A1c levels, experience weight loss, have a better understanding of diabetes and how medications affect their body and meet other individuals with diabetes for lasting friendships.
